Grade I listed gardens preserved by DTH aluminium panels
The project
We were contacted by the Head of Operations and Security at Castle Howard. They needed us to facilitate the installation of numerous fibreglass sculptures using our aluminium panels. They were required on-site for a new contemporary art exhibition created by Tony Cragg.
Castle Howard is a stately home with surrounding pristine gardens. Both the property and gardens are Grade I listed on the National Register of Historic Parks and Gardens. In addition to this, there are many other listed structures on the estate, several of which are on the Heritage at Risk Register.
This meant our aluminium panels were essential to protect the heritage grounds and immaculate lawn.

The challenges and aluminium panel solution
As the estate and gardens are over 322 years old, we knew the significance of ensuring we used the best equipment, trackway type and accessories to suit the requirements.
Following an in-depth site survey we specified 42 of our aluminium panels. We installed them in a way which would ensure the most protection for the grounds. This would ensure protection against both staff footfall and transportation.
Due to the vehicles carrying and erecting fibreglass structures, we also needed to ensure our solution was as level as possible. Amongst all this we had the battle of poor weather conditions.
