Introducing Jason Sensation – A lasting tribute to our friend and colleague
At Davis Trackhire, we have always believed that the people behind our business are its greatest asset. Some leave a mark that can never be replaced, and few embodied that more than our friend and colleague, Jason Hedley.
Following Jason’s passing in December 2025, we wanted to find a way to honour not only the exceptional professional he was, but also the incredible person he was to everyone who knew him. We wanted his legacy to continue travelling with us for many years to come.
We are proud to unveil one of the newest additions to our fleet – Jason Sensation.
Sharing the affectionate nickname that perfectly captured Jason’s larger-than-life personality, the vehicle is far more than another truck in our fleet. It is a permanent reminder of a man whose professionalism, knowledge and infectious sense of humour left an unforgettable impression on our business and the wider portable roadway industry.
It felt only right that the truck should be driven by Jason’s brother, Craig. Every mile it covers will stand as a reminder of Jason’s passion for the industry he dedicated more than 15 years of his life to, and of the lasting impact he made on everyone fortunate enough to work alongside him.
Carrying a personalised registration plate bearing Jason’s initials and date of birth, the truck ensures that a part of him will continue to travel the country every day. Alongside this sits a silhouette of Jason, accompanied by the words “You ain’t heavy man, you’re my brother”, a poignant tribute to the unbreakable bond between Jason and his brother. It also reflects the close-knit, family culture that has always been at the heart of Davis Trackhire, where colleagues become friends and friends become family.
In another deeply personal touch, the names of both Jason’s children and Craig’s children have been incorporated into the design, ensuring that this tribute is as much about family as it is about remembering a valued colleague.
Jason approached every project with pride, professionalism and an unwavering commitment to doing things the right way. His technical knowledge, attention to detail and ability to solve problems earned him enormous respect from colleagues and customers alike. Yet it was his personality that people remember most – the quick wit, the laughter, the stories and his remarkable ability to lift the spirits of everyone around him.
Although Jason is no longer with us, his legacy continues through the people whose lives he touched, the standards he set, and now through a truck that will proudly carry his name across the country.

Jason loved this industry. He took immense pride in his work, cared about doing every job properly, and left a lasting impression wherever he went. To be the one driving Jason Sensation every day is something I’ll never take for granted. I know he’d have absolutely loved the attention!
Seeing his initials and birthday on the registration plate, his silhouette on the side of the cab, and the names of our children together on the front makes this truck so much more than just a vehicle. It allows me to carry a piece of Jason and his laughter with me wherever I go and serves as a constant reminder that, although he isn’t physically here beside us anymore, he’ll always be with me on every journey, doing the job he loved for many years to come.
