SSSI geotechnical site investigation access installation

After being let down by their previous Trackway supplier, a leading Geotechnical Site Investigation contractor needed an experienced and reliable temporary access provider for their upcoming project in Anglesey, North Wales. With previous experience with geotechnical works, Davis Trackhire came to their rescue and didn’t disappoint.

After conducting an in-depth survey of the four sites, it was determined that over 2 kilometres of aluminium Trackway was needed to facilitate the required access roads and drilling compounds. As this was also a SSSI site (Site of Special Scientific Interest) all 830 of our aluminium DTH Panels had to be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected before being sent to site to eliminate any risk of cross-contamination.

Despite having to work to the site’s strict timescales due to the geotechnical project, the entire access took a total of just 5 days to install and remained on site for several weeks to enable the client to safely get their drilling rigs onto site and drill a series of exploratory boreholes.

The panels were then recovered in less than 4 days and transported back to our depot – leaving behind a pristine and uncontaminated site.
