Aluminium trackway to install the highest mast in Scotland!
The Project
Our client contacted us to assist with the installation of a 330f climate mast on the grounds of the farm, set to be the highest mast in Scotland. They urgently required track mats for heavy equipment, specifically, aluminium trackway for a double-layer turning circle and crane lifting platform suitable for a 400T crane and HGV deliveries.

One of our very knowledgeable, Davis Track Hire technical representatives, arrived site the next day. They turned around a compliant proposal and works begining the following day.
We were working to a very tight deadline as components were on-route. Despite being in the middle of storm Babet, we knew our track mats for heavy equipment, were crucial. Our team completed the installation of the aluminium trackway through the weekend in very poor weather conditions. Our team’s hard work made it possible to meet the client delivery schedule.
In summary, we installed over 500 aluminium trackway panels, with the majority being installed cross-bonded in a double-element configuration. We construct our DTH panels from 11 individual aluminium planks. The design of the panels offers flexibility, thus, allowing them to follow the contours of the undulating surface when installed in a standard single-element configuration. By cross-bonding the panels, it reduced the flex within the panels and formed a rigid load-bearing temporary access. Our aluminium trackway is then capable of holding the weight of the crane over the very soft ground.

- Drawings and quote produced Tuesday and order placed same day.
- We completed the installation of the aluminium trackway the very same week, as requested. Moreover, it was ready for the following Monday.
