Davis Trackhire welcomes new project engineers this Spring
As the season gets underway and projects ramp up across the UK, Davis Trackhire is pleased to welcome new and familiar faces into key operational roles within the business. This spring has already seen positive growth across the team, with an internal promotion and a new industry hire strengthening the company’s site engineering capability.
These appointments reflect Davis Trackhire’s continued investment in experienced people who understand the practical, on-site realities of delivering safe and efficient trackway and ground protection solutions for customers across multiple sectors.
Ian Doughty becomes Project Engineer
Ian Doughty has been promoted from Senior Driver Operator into the role of Project Engineer earlier this month. Ian’s progression within the business is a great example of how hands-on experience and in-depth operational knowledge can naturally evolve into a technical, customer-facing engineering role.
Having worked on sites across the country, Ian brings a detailed understanding of how projects run in real conditions. In his new position, he now meets clients on site, conducts surveys and produces detailed job packs to ensure installations are delivered safely, efficiently and exactly to specification.
Ian’s journey through the industry began in 2008 as a driver’s mate, progressing through roles including Driver Operator and Lead Driver Operator. This background gives him a practical edge when planning and supporting projects for customers.

Thomas Wright Joins the Team
Thomas Wright joins Davis Trackhire this week as Project Engineer, bringing with him over 12 years of experience in the trackway industry. Having worked on and managed a number of high-profile contracts, Tom has extensive knowledge of site operations, customer requirements and project planning.
On a day-to-day basis, Tom conducts site visits, works closely with customers to identify their needs and develops clear, safe and timely plans to meet them. Customers will work with Tom from the early planning stages right through to project delivery, ensuring communication remains consistent throughout.
Outside of work, Tom spends most of his time with his family and two sons, often watching football or attending matches together.

Strengthening the engineering team
Both Ian and Tom now join Phill Wright’s engineering team, further strengthening Davis Trackhire’s technical and operational support for customers nationwide. Their combined experience, both from within the business and from across the wider industry, enhances the company’s ability to plan, survey and deliver projects to the highest standards.
These appointments ensure that customers continue to receive knowledgeable, practical support from engineers who understand both the planning and the real-world execution of trackway installations.
Meet the team
Ian and Tom’s full profiles, along with new headshots and team photos, will have been added to the Meet The Team section of the website.
